And it has one ingredient. Yup. ONE ingredient.
Bananas.
That’s it! Totally bananas, I know.
All you need is a wee bit of planning ahead and you’ve got a new nighttime treat. So without further ado here is our infamous Banana Soft Serve!

Banana Soft Serve
Prep Time: overnight to freeze bananas
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 3-4 servings
Ingredients
- 4-6 frozen bananas
Optional add-ins
- Nut butter
- Shredded coconut
- Dark chocolate or cacao powder
- Chopped dates
Directions
Peel bananas (don’t forget this step!), chop in large pieces and freeze overnight in a storage bag or freezer safe container.
Remove bananas from freezer and allow to sit out for 2-5 minutes (you can skip this step but be sure to have a high powered food processor).
Blend bananas in food processor (A Vitamix should work too) for a full 5 minutes. You will need to stop and scrape down sides a few times during processing. Keep going until it looks whipped with a smooth and creamy consistency. You may start to doubt whether it will begin to look like ice cream but just keep going!
Serve and eat immediately or play around with additional fun add-ins. Enjoy!

Good question and sorry for any confusion. Here’s a better breakdown…
Step 1. Zest the orange.
Step 2. Cut out the sections over a bowl and reserve the juice.
Step 3. Ring out the pith (all the extra parts of the orange, not the segments) to get all the extra juice.
This way you’ll end up with the zest, the segments and the juice all separate.
Does that help?
