Few sauces are as simple and satisfying as this tahini. We put it on our steamed veggies, grains, beans fish… and even as a dressing on salads. Heck, we’d eat it straight from the jar with a spoon, it’s just that good! Try it out and let us know what you think in the comments below…
Simple Tahini Dressing
Servings: 2
Time: 3 minutes
- 1/4 cup tahini
- juice of 1 lemon (2 tablespoons)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- salt and pepper, to taste
- water to thin (add 1 tablespoon at a time)
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl or jar and mix well. It may take some effort to incorporate the tahini in the liquid, be gentle and it will all come together.

You two are geniuses! I made this tonight and it was so good! I love that you can tweak it a little to taste how you like (a little more lemon, more garlic etc.). Thanks for ANOTHER awesome post!
So glad you like it, Katie
Tahini makes everything yummers! Let us know any other ways that you tweak it. Sometimes we throw in fresh herbs or some turmeric…both awesome options!
Hey there! Stumbled upon your site here looking for a good tahini recipe. I’ve never tried it but it sounds amazing, and simple!! However, being a total newb, I have no idea what brand to start with of tahini (it’s paste, right?). What did you guys use for this recipe? Thanks so much!
Welcome to the HCC Community! Great question. Tahini is to Sesame Seeds what Peanut Butter is to Peanuts. It’s just ground into a buttery paste. When you buy your tahini the only ingredient should be sesame seeds. That’s really important. As for brands. You should be able to find Joyva at pretty much any grocery store, but we really love Arrowhead Mills Organic Tahini. Let us know if you have ANY other questions. Happy cooking! Xx Quinn + Robyn
This is great! I recently started a healthy kick of eating salads for lunch instead of buying expensive and bad for me takeaway food.
A friend pointed to to this page and I mad it the same day!
I see what you mean about wanting to eat it straight out of the jar!
